Bitter?:| Better?!:)

"hey, what drives me to love you this much, you aren't that great?"
~sounds bitter, let's take it this way..

"you don't deserve my effort so I decided to move on, I can't wait for you anymore!!"
~much bitter? how about?

"i realize you are not worth the wait, so goodbye"
~urghh...

hmmm. pause, PRAY.

"You know, I love you. And that is something I can't hide. And whatever I do, you're still here (points to the heart). But I'm torturing myself from waiting and expecting nothing. I need revival, so I decided to give myself a break or may be, a time to move on. It'll not die, it'll just rest." -pip:)

---->LESSON?

sometimes, no matter how hard we try to pretend like we are so strong, words will still reveal how weak we are when it comes to love and goodbye. so its always best, to think twice before uttering any words most especially when we are too emotional. Praying is one way of keeping us calm and normal. God gives us the spirit to speak for the right words to say in the best manner at the perfect moment in any kind of situation (love, work, recitation, impromtu,q&a portion,etc.). You're not only being honest to the person you're talking to, you're being honest to yourself and to GOD. Isn't it a big release of stress when you know you blew it all away with all honesty and sincerity despite of its complexities?

In the simplest to the hardest situation we encounter in life, God always gives us the wisdom to stand at our best, not lessening our worth as a person who falls in love and been taken for granted.

Moving on is always part of leaving the past, embracing the present and giving a warm, positive aura to your future. It'll never be easy but what could you get out of life if everything you want will be given to you whenever you ask! God is a great driver. He loves twist and turns. And if you can't go with GOD and you'll just go with the flow, you can never enjoy your ride!

I learned that the easiest way to escape from something is to face it. yes, very ironic! But its like saying, to escape from the pain you've been keeping for a long time, you have to blew it out. Just like the above situation. She thought of many alternative ways of saying what's inside her but fearing to step on her ego. But after praying, she finally releases what she needed to let go. She faced it with veracity and now, not exactly free from pain but she's on her way of redeeming herself.

:)
Let your past make you better, not bitter.
It's your choice, and only yours.

Unending Love

I seem to have loved you in numberless forms, numberless times…
In life after life, in age after age, forever.
My spellbound heart has made and remade the necklace of songs,
That you take as a gift, wear round your neck in your many forms,
In life after life, in age after age, forever.
Whenever I hear old chronicles of love, it’s age old pain,
It’s ancient tale of being apart or together.
As I stare on and on into the past, in the end you emerge,
Clad in the light of a pole-star, piercing the darkness of time.
You become an image of what is remembered forever.
You and I have floated here on the stream that brings from the fount.
At the heart of time, love of one for another.
We have played along side millions of lovers,
Shared in the same shy sweetness of meeting,
the distressful tears of farewell,
Old love but in shapes that renew and renew forever.
Today it is heaped at your feet, it has found its end in you
The love of all man’s days both past and forever:
Universal joy, universal sorrow, universal life.
The memories of all loves merging with this one love of ours -
And the songs of every poet past and forever.

The Myth of the Human Body

Last Monday, October 3, 2011, a number of interested students joined the journey for a deeper knowledge about the human body. It was the Myth of the Human Body located at Taguig. The building itself is beautiful. I thought I was in Greece that very moment I saw its structure. The huge statues of gods and goddesses outside were beyond amazing! It’s like the whole structure is alive. It’s really creepy in there at first since those were real corpse of a human being. I imagined that they were modern mummies in display.

The exhibit's purpose and mission is the education of visitors about the human body, leading to better health awareness. It featured real human corpses that have undergone the process of Plastination. All the human plastinates are from people who donated their bodies for plastination via a body donation program which I think happened 20 years ago according to the tour guide. It was so amusing to discover how many millions of tiny particles that makes up our body. All those specimens were processed for months or even years and then brought here in the Philippines to be shown and shared as well as to educate us.

All of the corpses were really awesome! The tour guide said that those corpses were Chinese and only two were Europeans. There are about 300 specimens displayed in their museum. And if there’s a specimen that struck me most, it would be the babies. It was the most haunting. Seeing those babies was a faint of the heart and tear-dropping actually. I really felt sad for them since they came from China also which had a “One-Child Policy” before. So it means they are the ones who were aborted years ago since abortion is a legal act in their country.  The test tube babies were cool too. At a first glance, it looked like an alien from an outer space because it is red in color. I thought it was just blood but if you’d focus your eyes there, you’ll see that even though they are inside the test tubes, they were real babies too. That section was really my favorite. Very fascinating!

Other memorable specimens were those of a sagitally-divided man, a man carrying his peeled off skin on his arm, the pregnant woman with open uterus to show the fetus, and the completely axially-cut human body from head to foot. Actually all of them were really memorable for me. You’ll surely get more than what you paid off. That three hundred fifty peso – exhibit was worth paying for.

The journey was really an amazing experience to witness the perfection in the creation of the mankind: from a single sperm to a human. The journey is stunning for everyone I guess. And after experiencing this, for sure you’ll gain a different perspective about the way you look and care about yourself. You’ll see how creative and excellent God is in creating us.

After that journey, I thanked God for giving me this gift of life, for creating me. I prayed for those corpses there. Kudos to those donors for their precious bodies. I do think that they deserve to be called modern heroes, “The Heroes of the Human Body.”

So what are you waiting for? Better see it for yourself! J

“The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time”

Never judge a book by its cover. So far I have used this expression only in its metaphorical sense - do not judge people by their outward appearance. I never thought that one day I will use in its literary sense. If I had judged the book by its cover (and its title for that matter) I would never have read The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time by Mark Haddon and I would have missed a lot.

The very first time I saw the front cover of this book, it was a disaster - a dog stabbed by a garden fork. It looked as if some 5 year old kid had drawn it quite unsuccessfully. Next, I looked at the title: “The Curious Incident with the Dog” What?! Wait! This is far too long to be a title. In fact it was quite long but it had no promising meaning as to the content of the book. I opened the first page. The first chapter was not chapter 1, it was chapter 2! I flipped the pages several times, thinking that the problem is me of course, but no! The first chapter was indeed chapter 2.

The mystery is told from the perspective of a 15-year old boy named Christopher. In spite of his “disability”, he investigates the suspicious death of a neighborhood dog. It was such an interesting read with a very unique perspective. He relates well to animals in the story, but has no understanding of human emotions. He cannot stand being touched, and he detests the color yellow. The main characters in the story are Christopher, Mr. Boone, Mrs. Alexander, Siobhan, and Mr. and Mrs. Shears.

Nothing’s so impressing in the first few chapters. But if you keep reading though, you will understand what makes this book special - the main character. Christopher is not a usual boy. He is autistic; he is great at math and physics but he doesn't know anything about the human relationships. He is afraid to be touched or to be in the same room with strangers. He hates the colors yellow and brown and loves red. He doesn't eat pieces of food that touch each other. He loves patterns, puzzles, and logic and he knows all the prime numbers up to 3,000. That is why all of the chapters have only numbers that are prime.

So using the language of math, he makes this astute observation: “Prime numbers are what is left when you have taken all the patterns away. I think prime numbers are like life. They are very logical but you could never work out the rules, even if you spent all your time thinking about them.” I can totally agree with that! Christopher notices details that most other people don't.

In another chapter, Christopher notes a list of some of his behavioral problems: “Saying things that other people think are rude.” People say that you always have to tell the truth. But they do not mean this because you are not allowed to tell old people that they are old and you are not allowed to tell people if they smell funny or if a grown-up has made a fart. And you are not allowed to say “I don’t like you” unless that person has been horrible to you. I find it very interesting that while he can see his own “behavioral problems,” he has reasons for each of them. It isn’t like he just does things for no reason or to cause problems, he does them because he likes things a certain way.

The book is written simply and understandably. It features a lot of drawings, maps, and lists. In fact, this unusual aspect makes its immerse effect on the reader even more powerful. Haddon shows a great understanding of the autistic mind and the way it works. Sad, funny, challenging, surprising, this novel is going to make you laugh, cry, and think seriously about the people with disabilities.
